Smoking is harmful to your freedom
Posted in Politics (Opinion), Schools on May 27th, 2005 by DoubleManStory: Communist homosexual drama nerds put up funny, yet slightly anti-Bush (because they portray Bush as Groucho Marx), posters to advertise their upcoming satirical production, “The Complete History of America (Abridged).” One upstanding patriotic-9/11-Never-Forget-America-Fuck-Yeah!-Passion-Peace-Through-Strength student complains about the posters, causing the principal to order the posters taken down “on grounds that they promoted smoking and ‘endorsing one ideology over another.’” Promoted smoking. Brilliant!
I wonder if my high school would have stopped playing the “Piano Man” at events if I complained about how much it upset me.
The clever, although they be communist and homosexual, drama nerds replaced the posters with new designs featuring “a silhouette of Bush and a burning cigar, along with inscriptions such as ‘Free Expression for All (unless you are in high school)’ and ‘What First Amendment?’”
What First Amendment indeed.
